AMBER ALERT: 1-year-old child and mom taken, last seen near Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) – An AMBER Alert was issued in the Pueblo area Thursday afternoon.

Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for a one-year-old child named Zahid Adams, his mother Samantha Adams and the man who took them Maurico Venzor-Gonzalez. A vehicle they were last seen in was located along Cypress Street abandoned.

Authorities were searching an area near 1741 Cypress Street as of 4:015 p.m.

According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office a Hispanic man, Maurico Venzor-Gonzalez, took his ex-girlfriend and her one-year-old child at gunpoint at about 11:30 a.m. in the Adams County area.

Venzor Gonzalez is described as 5’6″, 125 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.

The woman he took with him is Samantha Adams, 5’6″, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Samantha has a ribbon tattoo on her wrist with a butterfly.

The one-year-old child is Zahid Adams. Zahid has brown hair and brown eyes. Zayde was last seen wearing a red t-shirt and black shorts.

The man’s name was not available as of 2:25 p.m. He is considered armed and dangerous.
